Skills an Executive in Business Development Needs
- Proven B2B sales or business development experience, ideally in digital services, agencies, SaaS or hosting.
- Excellent written English. Much of the selling happens in writing.
- A personal sales process you can describe and defend: how you prospect, qualify, follow up and close.
- Comfort being measured on activity and outcomes: qualified conversations, proposals sent and business closed.
- Disciplined CRM habits and a professional presence on video calls.
You are not expected to be a marketer or a technical expert. The role involves no content production or ad management, and you will be trained on each service well enough to sell it honestly, without overpromising.
About the Remote Business Development Executive Job
TK WebHosts is hiring a business development executive to run the commercial cycle end to end: answer and qualify inbound enquiries, prospect with care, prepare accurate proposals from the service catalog, close new business, and move one-off project clients onto ongoing managed services.
Business Development Executive Responsibilities
- Respond to inbound leads promptly and qualify them with a structured discovery process, not a generic pitch.
- Research prospects, write personalized first-touch outreach and follow up on a disciplined cadence.
- Hold discovery calls to understand what a prospect actually needs before proposing anything.
- Prepare accurate proposals and quotes from the defined service catalog and pricing.
- Close new business and hand it to the delivery team with the scope documented.
- Grow existing accounts through renewals, upgrades and ongoing managed services.
- Keep CRM records current: every lead, every touch, every outcome logged.
How the Business Development Executive Role Works
- Fully remote. There is no office to attend and no relocation.
- A full-time role, working agreed weekday hours.
- Two short team calls each weekday, at 09:00 and 15:30 UK time. Attending them is part of the role.
- A stable internet connection and a quiet place to work during agreed hours.
What the Business Development Executive Gets
- Direct mentorship and regular feedback from senior leadership.
- Internal training, documentation and process playbooks from the first day.
- Training on the automation and AI-assisted workflows already in place. No prior experience with them is needed.
- Reimbursement for essential business tools and software.
- Room to take on more responsibility and ownership as you prove yourself.
How the Business Development Executive Hiring Process Works
- Apply online. Send the short form on the role page with a link to work you have done yourself. Every application is read.
- Structured interview. A 30-minute video call. The same questions go to every candidate, scored on the answers and on work you can show.
- Practical stage. A role-specific task or role-play, plus a check that your connection and workstation hold up on a live call.
- Offer and review. A written offer, then a documented review at 30, 60 and 90 days.
