Free Redirect Checker
Trace every hop in a redirect chain — status codes, targets and the final destination — and audit your http, https, www and non-www variants in one pass. Chains, loops and temporary redirects, all made visible.

Why it matters
Every extra hop costs speed and signal.
Chains slow every visit
Each hop is a full round trip before your page even starts loading. Two extra hops can add half a second on mobile networks.
Temporary means temporary
302 and 307 tell search engines "keep the old URL". If the move is permanent, use 301 or 308 so ranking signals follow the content.
One canonical variant
http, https, www and non-www are four URLs. Exactly one should answer 200 — the other three should 301 straight to it, with no detours.
Redirect FAQs
Chains, status codes and canonical variants.
What is the difference between a 301 and a 302 redirect?
A 301 is permanent: it tells search engines the page has moved for good, and ranking signals transfer to the destination. A 302 is temporary: engines keep the old URL indexed and may not transfer signals. Use 301 (or 308) for any move you do not plan to reverse.
How many redirects are acceptable?
One hop is normal — http to https, or non-www to www. Two is tolerable. Three or more wastes crawl budget, slows every visit, and Google may stop following the chain entirely at ten hops. Point the first URL straight at the final destination.
Do redirects lose PageRank?
Google says a single clean 301 passes full signal. In practice, long chains and mixed 301/302 hops are where value leaks — and every hop adds latency for real visitors regardless.
Why check http, https, www and non-www together?
Those four variants are four different URLs to a search engine. If more than one returns 200, you have duplicate content splitting your ranking signals; if they redirect inconsistently, crawlers waste budget. Exactly one variant should serve the page and the other three should 301 to it.
Is this redirect checker free?
